Yes. Fernweh is an adults-only property. All overnight guests and visitors must be 18 or older.

Check-in begins at 3pm and check-out is by 11am. We'll send arrival details and your personal entry code before your stay.

Fernweh is designed to be easy and independent. There is no traditional front desk—you'll receive everything you need to access the property and your room before arrival. Someone is always onsite or readily available should you need anything during your stay.

Fernweh is a historic home and, unfortunately, is not currently very accessible. Guest rooms require navigating stairs, some of which are fairly steep, and there is no elevator. If you have mobility concerns or specific accessibility needs, please contact us before booking so we can help determine whether the property will be a comfortable fit.

We love them, but pets are not permitted at Fernweh.

Smoking and vaping are not permitted indoors. Designated smoking areas are available outside—we just ask that you use those areas and dispose of everything responsibly.

We don't serve breakfast, but we'll have morning coffee covered. Downtown Jacksonville's cafés and restaurants are also just a short walk away.

Overnight guests have access to the pool, sauna, gardens, porches, bocce, game room, common spaces, and Frankie's, our in-house bar.

Yes, seasonally. Pool temperature and availability may vary depending on weather and time of year.

Yes, within reason. Registered guests may have occasional visitors during the daytime and early evening. Visitors must be 18 or older, remain accompanied by a registered guest, and may not stay overnight.
The pool, sauna, and other guest amenities are reserved for registered overnight guests. Larger gatherings, events, or professional photography require advance approval.

Yes. Fernweh is available for whole-lodge buyouts, giving your group private use of all five guest rooms and the property's shared amenities. Overnight occupancy is limited to 10 registered guests. Visit our Gatherings page for information about gatherings or events associated with a buyout.

Yes. Complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout the property.

Very close. Fernweh feels tucked away, but historic downtown Jacksonville is just a few blocks away and easily walkable.

Yes. The Britt grounds are within walking distance, making Fernweh an especially easy home base during concert season.
